The Absorption Method

I spent the day at TEDx Sydney and soaked up a bucket of ideas from digital censorship to solastalgia to same sex marriage (Michael Kirby is one AWESOME gentleman). At the end of all this I stayed in Sydney to do some writing and locked myself in a hotel room. I had to resist the temptation to grab a ferry to Cockatoo Island or take in some of the Sydney Writers Festival. I kept repeating the mantra.

"Output Geraldine. Output"

I figured I was through with absorbing for the weekend and needed to...um...what's the opposite of absorb? Emit?

There were several stand-outs for me at TEDx. Glenn Albrecht, Rob Adams and Brett Solomon and one very sassy scientist, Amanda Barnard talking about Nano technology. Phew. I think I even got it.

Rachel Botsman spoke about collaborative consumption with a snappy presentation I've embedded here. It works best full screen.

  1. Glenn Albrecht was my absolute favourite lecturer when he taught here; he was provocative and thoughtful and inspiring.

I'm pleased to hear that he's still got it!
